TUTORIAL IN PREPARATION

I am gradually finding my way back to the studio after a few rather eventful weeks. My eldest son, Emilien, returned from Australia. He had been living in Melbourne and ultimately decided to come home when the city's second lockdown was announced.

I also spent some time renovating the apartment my three sons share in Lyon, and those projects turned out to be much more complicated than expected. Then again, whose idea was it to replace the bathroom sinks and faucets?

My father also experienced some health issues and had to undergo surgery. Between the worry and accompanying him to various medical appointments, I simply wasn't in the right frame of mind to continue working on my tutorial projects.

The holiday we had originally planned in Australia became a last-minute getaway to the Ubaye Valley instead. We were very fortunate: all three of our sons joined us, and we shared some wonderful moments together. I came home covered in aches and pains after a week of hiking, rafting, and canyoning, but this unexpected break did me a world of good.

I now feel ready to return to the tutorial I have been working on for far too long. In this new tutorial, I show step by step how to create a necklace, from designing and making the decorative polymer clay components to assembling the final piece with an adjustable sliding mechanism that allows the length of the necklace to be easily modified. The rod-based construction gives the necklace a distinctive, minimalist look, and I am very much looking forward to announcing the release of this tutorial soon.

Using some of the decorative sheets I created while filming the tutorial, I also made this necklace, which I’m very fond of. The assembly is slightly different from the one demonstrated in the tutorial, but it follows the same spirit.
