HAIR CLIPS

For those with thick hair, finding high-quality hair clips that hold securely throughout the day is not always easy.

I now offer polymer clay hair clips featuring a variety of decorative designs. The polymer clay element is securely riveted to the metal clip base. The rivets themselves are also handmade in my studio from thick brass wire.

I’d like to give you a glimpse into the making of one of these hair clips. To keep the video from becoming too long, I deliberately started with a polymer clay sheet that had already been decorated and baked. The creation of this sheet — using a variety of surface techniques and mixed-media approaches — is not shown in the video.
